Radial ships cab combiner

Radial Engineering is shipping its new Cab-Link speaker cabinet combiner.

The Cab-Link is a compact solution for players who have a single speaker output on their amplifier but want to connect two cabinets simultaneously.

Radial’s Cam Wilkison, explained: “The Cab-Link looks after a relatively straightforward task but the design team ensured the final product was compact, small enough to add to the back of a speaker cabinet or sit on top of an amp. Because tone is key, the Cab-Link passes signal with absolutely zero coloration or phase shift. It also needed to be rock solid – any gear that gets used on stage needs to be able to stand up to punishment without breaking. We used heavy-duty connectors, a military grade circuit board, and a 14 gauge steel chassis to ensure that the Cab-Link will remain gig-ready even if you accidentally park your car on it.”

Completely passive with no need for power, the Cab-Link combines two cabinets in either series or parallel configuration, which allows their total impedance to match the output impedance of the amp. Both cabinets are connected via speaker cables to outputs A and B, and an easy-to-use guide on the top of the Cab-Link lets you know which input to connect your amp to, depending on the impedance ratings of your cabinets.

For example, two 8 Ohm speaker cabinets, they can be combined in series for a 16 Ohm amplifier, or in parallel for use with a 4 Ohm amp. The output of the amplifier connects to one of two input jacks; use either the series or parallel input depending on which configuration is required.

The Cab-Link also features a line out, which can be used to feed another amplifier or an effects unit. A dedicated level control allows for fine-tuning of the output. It can handle amp outputs of up to 400 watts, is built in Canada with high quality components, and comes with Radial’s three-year warranty. RRP is $79.99.
