On March 18, we received the following:

As Pete Seger once penned:  To everything turn, turn, turn…it’s our turn to officially cancel the 2020 RPMDA Convention. On behalf of the Board, we want to thank you for the support and words of encouragement that have been shared during this turbulent time. Your overwhelming support and “if you have it, we will come” mentality just confirms that our Association is strong and filled with the most positive-minded people in the industry. We know that everyone is all too aware of the reasons for our decision to cancel. Our world is changing daily and until things simmer down, everyone needs to focus on the health and well-being of their family, friends, businesses and employees at home. We will rise above this and when we do, we will set our sights on RPMDA 2021.
For the logistically minded:
  • Hotel Reservations: The Hyatt has been amazing to work with. They have already canceled all reservations made under our room block so no worries. If you made reservations to arrive early or stay later you might want to confirm directly with the hotel that those dates are canceled as well.
  • Registration and Sponsorship: Please let us know if you would like us to carry forward your registration and/or sponsorship for our 2021 convention or if you would like a refund. If you would like a refund, simply email us at office@printmusic.org with subject line 2020 RPMDAConvention Refund Request. We will process it right away.
  • Jazz Heritage Festival Ticket Refunds: We are working with Festival officials and will update you as soon as we can offer ticket refunds.
  • RPMDA 2021: Most of you know we already had Montreal ready for 2021 but with the incredible response we had with NOLA, we’re looking into shifting Montreal to 2022 and head back to NOLA for 2021. It’s too soon to tell so stay tuned.
  • Virtual RPMDA: We will be hosting a series of webinars exclusively for our members that are based on the sessions we were going to offer at the convention. A lot of work has been already been done so we want to share it. These webinars will be for RPMDA members ONLY as one of the perks of your membership.
  • Annual Business Meeting: We will be hosting a Virtual Business Meeting for all members to review the 2019 minutes, financial status and board election. You won’t want to miss it! Stay tuned for dates and times.
Back to our song: “There is a season, turn, turn, turn. And a time to every purpose, under heaven.”  We hope you can continue your purpose of bringing the excitement and joy of making music to the world as we work through this pandemic together.
Stay healthy,
David “DJ” Jahnke
