Pearl River to Debut the Kayserburg Étoile Collection of Exotic Woods at the NAMM Show

Since its introduction by the Pearl River Piano Group at Music China 2020 in Shanghai, the Kayserburg ÉtoileCollection has been lauded for transforming pianos into works of art through the highest level of veneer craftsmanship. Named for the French word for ‘star’ (pronounced eiˈtwal), the Collection brings forward the natural luster, color, and beautiful patterns that change from every angle in rare, exotic wood.

Now, for the first time, the Kayserburg Étoile Collection of exotic veneers will be featured at the 2024 NAMM Show on select pianos. Included will be a Kayserburg KA160T, 5’ 3” Grand Piano in Sapele Mahogany, a luxurious wood from western and central African trees that reach heights up to 180 feet, a Kayserburg KA180T, 5’ 11” Grand Piano and a Kayserburg KA3TX upright both finished in Straight Line Ebony.

Out of more than 90,000 species of hardwoods in the world, only about 100 are used in the fancy veneer category. Of these, the most impactful has been selected for the Kayserburg Étoile Collection, such as East Indian Rosewood, considered one of the most beautiful lumbers in the world and found in many Asian antiques, or Ziricote, an exotic wood native to the Central American that ranges from reddish-brown to dark brown with unusual streaks of pale-yellow sapwood.

The collection also features Tiger Striped Sandalwood, Green Apple, Rose Gold Sandalwood, and Golden Silk Phoebe, historically used for boat building, architectural woodworking, furniture, and sculptural carving.
