US amp brand Supro, distributed in the UK by JHS, has been boosted by the backing of up and coming guitarist, Ryan McGarvey.
McGarvey played with Eric Clapton at his 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago after being chosen from more than 4,000 guitarists. He also won Guitar Player magazine’s Annual Readers Choice Award for Best New Talent in 2013 and a year later was voted Best Guitarist in the European Blues Awards. This month (September) he undertakes a 30-date European tour accompanied a pair of Supro Royal Reverb amplifiers supplied by distributor, JHS.
“As the distributors for the UK and across many European territories we are delighted that Ryan has asked us to provide these amplifiers for his upcoming tour.” said JHS product specialist and artiste liaison, Gav Coulson. “Supporting touring artists, from grass roots to major stadium acts is just one facet of our activities with Supro and having such a talented and hard working musician as Ryan onboard is absolutely fantastic.”
“Thank you so much for the amps,” said Ryan. “They are really wonderful, and there’s so much to love about them. I love the clarity and cleanliness of the tone you can maintain at higher volume. Also they are very bottom friendly which I think is hard to keep in a combo. I’m playing certain venues with both at the same time.”
