TASCAM and the Linda Lindas Partner to Promote the Women’s Audio Mission (WAM)

TASCAM and the youthful, riot grrrl-influenced punk quartet the Linda Lindas, announce a promotion to increase awareness of the Women’s Audio Mission (WAM), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of women or gender-nonconforming individuals in music production, technology, and the recording arts. The promotion is free and includes the opportunity to win some exceptional TASCAM audio production gear in addition to an assortment of Linda Lindas merchandize.

WAM’s mission is to ensure those who might not otherwise have access to technology and audio training can use state-of-the-art equipment and experience the power of having their voices heard. This goal addresses two critical issues: (1) the fact that less than 5% of the people creating the sounds, music, and media in the daily soundtrack of our lives are women/girls/gender-expansive individuals, and (2) the alarming 70% decline in women/girls/gender-expansive individuals enrolling in college STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) programs since the year 2000.
