The MIDI Association and the NAMM Foundation have announced a year-long fundraising campaign to support the MIDI In Music Education initiative. The campaign will kick off with a focused May Is MIDI Monthpromotion and then run through the next 12 months.
The MIDI Association is helping to fund SAE Mexico City’s development of a MIDI curriculum and certification program in English and Spanish. The materials will be made available under a Creative Commons license so schools and organizations can modify them to their specific needs. The curriculum is targeted to schools (secondary, college, university, and professional schools), as well as manufacturers and reseller staff members.
The NAMM Foundation MIDI Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit, so donations made are tax deductible in the US. The MIDI Association has already contributed $25,000 to the fund, and the goal is to have that amount matched by donor commitments made during May Is MIDI Month 2024.
The promotional campaign’s core concept is simple: Organizations pledge to match individual donations in May up to a specific amount and, in return, receive donor benefits via focused marketing from The MIDI Association throughout the year. Anonymous donations are also possible.
There are two levels of May Is MIDI Month donor benefits: Platinum Donors for donations of $2500 (or more), and Gold Donors for donations of $1000.
Platinum Donor Benefits:
- 2 articles on MIDI.org (one in May and one between May 2024 and April 2025)
- Large-size logo placement in all MIDI Association Newsletters between May 2024 and April 2025
Gold Donor Benefits:
- 1 article on MIDI.org (between May 2024 and April 2025)
- medium size logo placement in all MIDI Association Newsletters between May 2024 and April 2025
