Three New AFX Mini pedals offered by Fishman

Introduced last year, the AFX Mini pedal family quickly grew a following for their tiny size, acoustic-centric design, and robust features.

Kind of Blue

The new AFX Mini BlueChorus delivers lush, shimmery chorus effects without completely coloring the sound. Analog, Vintage, and Classic – while their names might sound similar, these three chorus effects bring back sounds from the past. This time, they’re voiced to sit comfortably with the acoustic’s beautiful resonances.

Ranging from subtle doubling effects to a full acoustic ensemble behind you, the AFX BlueChorus features a Rate control that sets the speed of each effect and a Depth control that blends it perfectly into your mix.

A Tone control rolls-off the high frequencies of each effect – but not the acoustic sound – when players want to thicken up their sound but retain the definition of their leads.

What’s the Delay?

Fishman’s AFX Mini EchoBack is a simple but feature-rich delay pedal with tap tempo that adds tone and texture without completely coloring the instrument’s sound. Three elemental delay types – Analog, Digital, and Tape – in one pedal, voiced and mixed in parallel to give acoustic performances and recordings new rhythms without compromising tone.

Creating echo and delay effects couldn’t be easier. Players can turn the Delay knob or tap a tempo to get the rhythm and feel for the moment. Any changes in delay time will create a temporary pitch effect, just like the originals that inspired these new versions.

A Repeats control sets how many echoes are heard while the Level knob blends in the delay alongside the signal – not on top of it.

Fresh Squeezed

The AFX Mini AcoustiComp offers simple, effective compression, making it easy to gain control over playing dynamics.

Compressors can be difficult to set, especially when fine-tuning the extended dynamic range of an acoustic instrument. AFX AcoustiComp sets these critical parameters behind-the-scenes to deliver great results with the turn of a knob.

Based on the popular Aura Spectrum compressor, AFX AcoustiComp provides mild, effective dynamic leveling designed to complement acoustic instruments.

Players can turn it up a little to add light compression and help their instrument sit better in a mix without sacrificing tone. Fattening the tone is as easy as cranking up the Comp knob.

The new AFX Mini BlueChorus, EchoBack and AcoustiComp all have 32-bit DSP processing and provide True Bypass and buffered bypass options. AFX Minis are blended in parallel with the direct sound, meaning they’re added alongside the player’s tone – not on top of it.

Housed in durable aluminum enclosures, each pedal measures only 1.9” W x 3.8” D x 1.92” H (49mm W x 97mm D x 49mm H) and draw a mere 53mA from a standard 9V power supply.

True Bypass and Dual Path Routing:

With true bypass, the pedal’s electronics are literally removed from the signal chain. For those who prefer a buffered bypass, AFX Mini effect pedals are switchable.

Each pedal features an innovative “dual channel audio path” that lets users create two independent effect chains with a single series of cables.

To utilize the Dual Path option, users can connect several AFX Minis together with TRS stereo guitar cables and set the Audio Path switch on each pedal to “Tip” or “Ring.” Pedals set to “Tip” will create one effect chain while pedals set to “Ring” will create another effect chain.
