D’Addario has announced the appointment of William (Bill) Michael Wrightson as the business unit director of D’Addario Woodwinds, reporting directly to John D’Addario III, president of D’Addario & Company Inc.
Bill will be succeeding Gary Smith who will be leaving the company in late July.
Bill is an accomplished business professional with a successful track record in retail and manufacturing organizations in the music, consumer electronics, and computer technology industries. In fact, Bill worked with Guitar Center, Inc. from 2005 through 2016, where he held several executive positions in Merchandising and Marketing. During his tenure at Guitar Center, Bill earned the President’s Award for Outstanding Achievement and Leadership.
After leaving Guitar Center, Bill took on a senior level Business Development and Marketing position with IK Multimedia, a leader in iOS, Mac, and PC software and hardware technology for musicians and music enthusiasts. At IK, Bill’s responsibilities included multi-year business planning and budgeting, competitive analysis, product roadmap and lifecycle management, and the development of strategic partnerships.
In his role with D’Addario, Bill will be responsible for the overall profitability of the entire Woodwinds Business Unit, and for driving operational excellence and continuous improvement throughout the supply chain. In addition, he will partner with our executive staff and his team to create a sales, marketing, and product development vision for the business unit, and translate this vision into significant market share gains and global revenue growth.
