Yamaha has announced its latest breakthrough product that delivers a unique combination of clear top end and strong projection – the new Yamaha FS9 Acoustic Guitars.
The FS9 R (with an Indian rosewood body) and FS9 M (with an African mahogany body) feature solid Adirondack spruce tops with tapered edges, providing structural strength while also allowing the body to vibrate more efficiently for a combination that contributes to the guitar’s overall power and sensitivity.
These new concert-style guitars are designed for singer-songwriters who value expressivity in both their voice and their guitar—perfect for those players who pursue arpeggio-based expression. A few key features include:
· Powerful Projection and Exceptional Clarity: The most distinctive feature of the FS9 is its sound—a unique combination of clear top end and strong projection, which make it ideal for singer-songwriters. With its body shape and the shorter scale length, it also produces balanced tone and a better touch-sensitivity that enhances subtle and detailed arpeggios.
· Bolt-On Neck Joint: The neck has a new structural design that combines bolt-on and glued construction to increase body vibration and improve maintainability. Neck and body joints are finished and adjusted with high precision.
· Rounded V-Shaped Neck: The rounded V-shaped neck is easy to grip, and its durable semi-gloss polyurethane coating facilitates smooth hand movement.
· Thin Nitrocellulose Lacquer Finish: The precision-engineered wood body is coated with a thin nitrocellulose lacquer that does not interfere with vibrations, allowing the true sound of the instrument to be heard.
· Elegant While Understated Japanese Aesthetic: The distinctive fingerboard inlays resemble traditional Japanese Kumiki woodworking, while the rope-shaped inlay and purfling on the rosette is a motif that is deeply rooted in Japanese culture.
The new line is available here beginning today and retails for:
· FS9 R – $6,780 MSRP
