Fender Unveils New Additions to the California Series Acoustic Guitars

Fender announces new additions to the California Series, the heart of the Fender Acoustics Portfolio.  These twenty-one new models represent both modern and vintage versions of Fender’s most classic acoustic offerings. The California series offers players across the playing spectrum a chance to harness the mojo, look, tone, and feel of classic Fender acoustics at an incredibly competitive price.

This acoustic guitar and bass lineup features period-correct specs from the 60’s and 70’s, along with player-friendly refinements such as narrow string spacing, shorter scale lengths, and Ergonomic modern “V”-shape neck profiles. Bold, eye-catching, and unique, California Series instruments make no compromises balancing standout style, superior sound, and effortless playability for those who aspire to play something different.

REDONDO PLAYER GUITAR ($449.99 USD, £349.99 GBP, €399.99 EUR, $699.99 AUD, ¥56,100 JPY)  Crafted with an X-braced solid spruce top and sapele back and sides, the dreadnought body of the Redondo Player produces a deep, robust voice with exceptional projection and volume for a wide variety of musical settings. The nato neck is designed with an easy-to-play slim “C”-shape profile, a 25.5” scale length and a tilt-back 6-in-line headstock for a distinctive look born from Fender’s electric guitar DNA. Other notable details include vintage-style tuning machines for smooth, accurate tuning, a GraphTech® NuBone® nut and saddle for detailed harmonic character and a Fishman® Flex preamp system that allows faithful reproduction of the guitar’s natural sound when plugged into an amplifier or recording device. MALIBU PLAYER ($449.99 USD, £349.99 GBP, €399.99 EUR, $699.00 AUD, ¥56,100 JPY) Crafted with an X-braced solid spruce top and sapele back and sides, the compact parlor-sized body of the Malibu Player produces a sweet, articulate voice that encourages players to reach for new chords and melodies. The nato neck is designed with an easy-to-play slim “C”-shape profile, a short 24” scale length and a tilt-back 6-in-line headstock for a distinctive look born from Fender’s electric guitar DNA. Other notable details include vintage-style tuning machines for smooth, accurate tuning, a GraphTech NuBone nut and saddle for detailed harmonic character and a Fishman Flex preamp system that allows faithful reproduction of the guitar’s natural sound when plugged into an amplifier or recording device. NEWPORTER PLAYER GUITAR ($449.99 USD, £​​349.99 GBP, €399.99 EUR, $699.00 AUD, ¥56,100 JPY) Crafted with an X-braced solid spruce top and sapele back and sides, the approachable mid-size auditorium body of the Newporter Player produces a versatile voice that’s both articulate and powerful, while offering a comfortable feel for hours of inspiration. The nato neck is designed with an easy-to-play slim “C”-shape profile, a 25.5” scale length and a tilt-back 6-in-line headstock for a distinctive look born from Fender’s electric guitar DNA. VILLAGER™ 12-STRING GUITAR ($599.99 USD, £499.99 GBP, €569.99 EUR, $949.00 AUD, ¥71,500 JPY) Crafted with an X-braced solid spruce top and sapele back and sides, the Villager 12-string features a non-cutaway Newporter auditorium body shape which produces a versatile voice that’s both articulate and powerful while offering a comfortable feel for hours of inspiration. The nato neck is designed with an easy-to-play slim “C”-shape profile featuring graphite reinforcement rods for stability, a 24.75” scale length for comfortable tension and a 1960s-inspired ”hockey stick” headstock for a distinctive look born from Fender’s acoustic heritage.
