With over 40 additions to the library of wind band literature, Excelcia Music Publishing’s 2023-24 Concert Band catalog features pieces in a range of grade levels in a variety of styles. Composers new to the publisher’s catalog include long-standing giants in the field, William Owens and Robert Sheldon, as well two other powerful and talented writers, Michele Fernández and Jorge Machain.  The release includes an interactive online component with full-band professional recordings and ScoreVideos for each piece, as well as Composer Insights videos.

“The cumulative strength of our composers is clearly evident in this year’s band release,” comments Tyler Arcari, Director of Music Production and Editing. “From contest festival works, holiday favorites, classic marches, and unique original works, all the way up to future standards, there is something in here for every concert, at every grade level.”

The publisher’s 2023-2024 Concert Band release includes new works from composers Bruce W. Tippette, Carol Brittin Chambers, Christina Huss, David Samuel, Jorge L. Vargas, Larry Clark, Laura Estes, Matthew R. Putnam, Sean O’Loughlin and Tyler Arcari, in addition to the new voices of William Owens, Robert Sheldon, Michele Fernández and Jorge Machain.

Published in Excelcia Music Publishing’s signature color-coded series, the Concert Band music follows the meticulous and consistent six-part grading system: Prelude (grade .5), Da Capo (grade 1), Harmony (grade 1.5), Intermezzo (grade 2 to 2.5), Rhapsody (grade 3 to 3.5) and Maestro (grade 4 and up). These categories clearly distinguish grade levels, helping directors select the most appropriate music for their ensembles. Each score, and its accompanying parts, are meticulously-edited and beautifully set for ease of reading and accessibility.

In conjunction with its 2023-2024 Concert Band catalog, the publisher has released two new pieces from the composer Pinkzebra, one of which is available in both full and flexible versions. Excelcia Music Publishing is proud to be the exclusive distributor of Pinkzebra’s sheet music.

Excelcia Music Publishing’s 2023-2024 Concert Band music is available from music retailers and from the publisher. Of particular note for purchasing the new releases, the Excelcia Concert Band Select Dealers for 2023-2024 are Art’s Music Shop, J.W. Pepper & Son, Midwest Sheet Music, Music and Arts, Penders Music Co., Poppler’s Music, Quinlan and Fabish and Stanton’s Sheet Music.
