Alesis announced that they are bringing their Alesis Drum Lab to the Chicago Drum Show, May 21-22, 2016.
Global Percussion Product Manager Tim Root will be demonstrating their latest electronic drum kits: the Command, Forge, and Nitro kits. Free drum lessons will be provided to everyone who signs up at the Alesis exhibit booth. Tim will give free 25-minute lessons on the fundamentals of playing electronic drums. “Texas” Tim Root, as he’s known in drumming circles, has traveled the world for over 30 years promoting electronic drums to a wide variety of professional, hobbyist and student audiences. A skilled player and experienced teacher, Tim studied at the University of Houston and the University of Texas San Antonio as well as privately with Keith Karnacky, Randy May, Joe Raynor, Joel Fulgum and Ed Soph. He has conducted over 300 drum clinics worldwide, including duos with Bill Bruford, Chester Thompson and Vinnie Colaiuta .
Command is an 8-piece electronic drum kit with our exclusive Alesis snare and kick drum Mesh drum heads (Patent Pending) that deliver an authentic drumming experience, with “real drum” sound, response and rebound. There are also two 9” dual-zone rack toms and an 11” dual-zone floor tom. This set is designed to deliver a great feel with a lifelike drumming sound. The setup also includes the powerful Advanced Drum Module that features 70 drum kits (50 factory pre-set + 20 user-customizable) with over 600 sounds and 60 play-along tracks and a built-in metronome.
Forge is a complete 8-piece electronic drum kit that features an 11” dual-zone snare and three 8” tom pads for great feel and natural response,
plus a kick drum pad with pedal. Three cymbals provide a range of playing expression: a ride cymbal, a crash cymbal with choke function and a responsive high-hat. The setup also includes the powerful Advanced Drum Module that features 70 drum kits (50 factory pre-set + 20 user-customizable) with over 600 sounds and 60 play-along tracks and a built-in metronome.
Nitro is a complete set that features four dynamic rubber drum pads—an 8-inch snare drum with dual zones for a great feel and natural response. There are also three 8-inch rubber-pad toms plus a kick drum pad with pedal. Three cymbals—ride, crash w/choke and hi-hat— give players a virtually unlimited range of versatility and playing expression. Also included is the powerful Nitro electronic drum module with hundreds of percussion sounds, 40 different kits and 60 built-in play-along tracks.
