This year’s MIA Conference saw a gaggle (not sure of the collective noun) of industry types gather again at the British Library for a day of speakers and workshops. There was much in the way of future gazing from experts in that sort of thing and to be honest, it’s a mixed bag of good and bad news for us all….

10: Judging by the questions to the legal experts, much of the industry is involved in skullduggery of one form or another

9: You can fit a decent proportion of the UK industry in one room

8: If you are the MD of one of the sponsors you should not sneak out after the first speaker

7: Transport for London have got it in for the UK MI industry

6: Thanks to 4D printing, men will never have to construct flat pack furniture. Ever. Again

5: Everything predicted in the The Jetsons is actually going to happen

4: Many people in the industry cannot afford their own legal advice

3: Superdry is not a Japanese company. Who knew?

2: Good news for the PM when he’s got the horn, it is possible to 3D print your own meat

1: We are doomed and robots are going to become our overlords
