Ravine DSP has introduced version 1.3 of Inter::State, its plug-in host for users’ existing effects. The update adds Slot Scenes, which store eight parameter states from a single plug-in and let users switch, morph or tempo-crossfade between them without building extensive DAW automation.
Inter::State places effects chains, macro mappings and modulation in a fixed workspace that can be reopened in any DAW session. Users can build serial, parallel, multiband and send-style structures across three racks, then control main, rack and slot targets from dials, sliders, MIDI or automation. Sessions and individual racks can be saved with plug-in states, macro mappings and modulators intact.
Slot Scenes can save a hosted plug-in’s parameter state and optional mixer settings inside each slot. Users can recall scenes instantly, morph between adjacent scenes or launch timed, beat-synchronized transitions. Scenes can be controlled through macros, MIDI, host automation, the built-in modulator or Ravine DSP’s companion Inter::State[Bridge] utility.
Inter::State[Bridge] provides a reusable control surface for projects with multiple Inter::State instances. Automation or MIDI mappings assigned to its eight sliders can be broadcast to subscribed main macros across a project, while direct tiles control specific instances.
“Version 1.3 is where it crosses over into a creative environment,” Ravine DSP founder Craig Lopez said. “The new Slot Scenes system gives you eight parameter snapshots for any hosted plug-in, which can clearly reduce the need for duplicate plug-in instances.”
Lopez said Selector mode snaps between settings, Morph blends between static states and Crossfade transitions a track’s processing over a set musical duration. The system also combines those transitions with Inter::State’s zero-added-latency Auto-Gain.
Inter::State and Inter::State[Bridge] are available in 64-bit VST3 and AU formats for macOS 10.13 or newer and Windows 10 or 11. Supported hosts include Ableton Live, Apple Logic Pro, Cockos Reaper and Steinberg Cubase. The Founders Edition price is $69 or €60 before increasing to $99 or €85. Owners of earlier versions can update to version 1.3 at no charge, and a seven-day unrestricted trial is available.
