Yamaha has appointed Thomas Schoepe as its new European president.
Schoepe, formerly vice-president, head of administration for the company, replaces Mr. Sasaki who will be returning to Japan to retire in May.

The appointment has significance for Yamaha, which has never previously appointed a non-Japanese to such a senior position.
Yamaha’s UK managing director Mark Rolfe, said: “This departure shows that Yamaha is embracing the direction for Global companies and creating an international top management that is well informed and well placed to respond to the demands of modern business in an ever-shrinking world.”
