Excelcia Music Publishing has published 35 new choral pieces for 2022, from new composers and arrangers to returning popular favorites, with many songs falling under a theme of hope, empowerment and self-love.  New this year, the choral release includes the debut of the publisher’s Derric Johnson Choral Series.  Packing an educational punch, the 2022 release is rich with resources, including live professional recordings of each piece, and separate part-track recordings of each voicing.

“It is a tough time out there and people look to music as a source of hope and inspiration.  Excelcia Music Publishing’s 2022 choral release is exactly that,” explains Choral Editor Jamey Ray.  “I am so grateful for the incredibly-talented composers and arrangers who brought this music to life.”

The inaugural Derric Johnson Choral Series featuring 10 works – including many Christmas songs – is part of Excelcia Music Publishing’s 2022 Choral Music catalog.  Known worldwide, Derric Johnson has written beloved a cappella works for his popular groups, The Re’Generation, as well as The Voices of Liberty which he formed in association with The Walt Disney Company.

“I have written and arranged a lot of a cappella music in my lifetime, and I’ve always been looking for a publishing ‘home.’  With Excelcia Music Publishing, my quest is finally over,” remarks Johnson.  “I am thrilled that some of my favorite a cappella arrangements are in the 2022 choral catalog.”

In addition to Derric Johnson, the publisher’s 2022 choral release includes pieces from composers and arrangers Kara Stacy Bedwell, David Bobrowitz, Patti Drennan, John Florio, Greg Gilpin, Brandon Martell, Blake R. Mitchell, Kim Noller, Steve Parsons, Jamey Ray, Russell Robinson, John Maclane Schirard, Ruth Elaine Schram, Connor Warren Smith, Bruce W. Tippette and Marshall Webb.

Each new octavo is edited and artfully set for ease of reading. Color coded for quick discovery, these works vary from unison/two-part up to SATB divisi.  In addition to the professional and part-track recordings, Excelcia Music Publishing provides ScoreVideos and preview scores for each piece on its website.

Excelcia Music Publishing’s 2022 Choral music is available from music retailers everywhere and from the publisher.
