Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update from NAMM

Christian Wissmuller • Upfront • March 13, 2020

A Note from Joe Lamond

At this time of global concern, NAMM continues to monitor developments related to COVID-19 and the advisements from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the World Health Organization (WHO), among others, daily.

Our industry and indeed, your member association, is built on personal and professional connections. In the coming months, we have two events scheduled to bring our members together: the annual NAMM Washington D.C. Fly-In for Music Education (May 18-20) and Summer NAMM in Nashville (July 9-11). NAMM is following the latest guidance from local, state and national authorities as it relates to travel and public gatherings, with the intention of keeping our membership informed and safe. We will do our very best to stay the course and serve our membership and the industry with these important gatherings. If circumstances change, please be assured that we will work closely with you to make the very best out of the situation.

In addition, NAMM is working with our Washington, D.C. team and with other business organizations to urge Congress to support the Small Business Administration and other agencies in their efforts to provide relief from the impact of COVID-19. Updates and additional resources for NAMM members are available at https://www.namm.org/issues-and-advocacy/covid-19-updates-and-resources-business.

For many of us, this is uncharted territory, with new information coming in rapidly. Please know that we will keep you up to date regularly, and any changes to our upcoming events will be communicated directly and in a timely manner. The health and safety of our membership is our top priority. We encourage all members to review the CDC and WHO guidance, as well as other COVID-19 resources below.

We wish you and our extended NAMM Family good health; we will get through this together.

Sincerely,

Joe Lamond, NAMM President and CEO
