ILIO announced a new partnership with moForte to distribute GeoShred Studio and the complete collection of GeoSWAM and Naada modeled instruments through its worldwide dealer network. GeoShred Studio is a physical modeling software instrument for macOS offering deep expressive control and integration into professional music production environments. Building on its roots as a mobile performance app, the desktop version adds AUv3 and VST3 plug-in support, multi-instance use, and MIDI/MPE integration for recording, editing and re-rendering expressive performances inside a digital audio workstation.
GeoShred Studio is available for $50 and serves as the entry point into the GeoShred performance environment for macOS. The included physical modeling guitar engine features more than 70 adjustable parameters and a 22-unit inline FX rack with stompboxes, amp simulation, reverb, delay and arpeggiator. It includes more than 200 built-in scales, Indian ragas and microtonal temperaments. The physical modeling engine is based on research from Stanford’s CCRMA program. Features include full MIDI Polyphonic Expression compatibility and integration with GeoShred and GeoShred Control on iPad and iPhone. Preset synchronization between desktop and mobile devices is handled via iCloud.

GeoShred Studio is designed to be performed expressively using GeoShred’s isomorphic keyboard on iPad and iPhone. For users who do not already own GeoShred for iOS, the free GeoShred Control app provides MPE control specifically designed for use with GeoShred Studio on macOS. The software is also compatible with a wide range of performance tools including MPE controllers, traditional MIDI keyboards and breath controllers, allowing musicians to choose the performance approach that best fits their setup. Benefits include responsive physical models designed for expressive real-time performance and continuous control over dynamics, vibrato, articulation and phrasing.
