The Mapex Percussion Team is thrilled to welcome rudimental percussion icon Bill Bachman to our distinguished roster of artists.

A sought-after clinician, Bachman has performed on nearly every continent. He currently teaches at Marcus High School, a 2025 TMEA Performing Ensemble, in addition to Flower Mound High School who recently marched in the Macy’s 2024 Thanksgiving Day Parade. Additionally, he runs a large online lesson platform with students from around the globe.

Bachman expressed his excitement about the partnership, saying, “I’m really excited to join the Mapex and Majestic Percussion team! I look forward to playing these fantastic drums in my studio, at gigs & clinics, and creating content with a fresh sound. Mapex will be a great partner for spreading my drumworkout.com style of drumming education & inspiration. Let’s do this!”

The team at Mapex and Majestic Percussion are just as excited. “I’m beyond enthusiastic to have Bill join the Mapex and Majestic Percussion family!” says Mapex Marching Arts Artist Relations Manager, John Harvill. Bill’s friendship has been a joy for over two decades, and I hold him in the highest regard, both as an individual and as a percussionist. The opportunity to support his initiatives, such as drumworkout.com, with the resources of Mapex is truly an honor and I’m excited for the educational opportunities and experiences that lie ahead.”

Nic Milliner, Brand Manager at Mapex and Majestic Percussion, says of Bachman, “Bill is a true icon in the marching community, but his expertise in hand technique extends far beyond the marching idiom, making a lasting impact across all areas of percussion education. Having worked with Bill in the past, I’ve personally benefited from his vast knowledge and insightful approach. His ability to elevate performance, education, and even product design—always with remarkable humility and attention to detail—makes him an invaluable addition to our team. We could not be more excited about the opportunities this collaboration will bring.”

Behind the drumset Bill is the drummer for Herd of Instinct, Spoke of Shadows, has toured with progressive rock artist Neal Morse, is on recordings with Trey Gunn (King Crimson), Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree), Adam Holzman (Miles Davis & Steven Wilson), Gerald Albright (Grammy award winning saxophonist), and gigs locally on a regular basis.

Bill proudly endorses Loyal drums, Vic Firth drumsticks, Remo drumheads, Zildjian cymbals, Earaser earplugs and InEarz in-ear monitors and, Mapex and Majestic Marching Percussion.
