Renowned pianist David Syme, Pearl River Brand Ambassador and Classical Artist in Residence at University College Cork, in Ireland, added more dates to his North American Tour, sponsored by Pearl River Piano Group, the world’s leader in the manufacturer of pianos.
Performing on Pearl River, Ritmüller, and Kayserburg pianos Syme thrilled an intimate audience at Palm Desert Piano in California with a varied program and conversation on May 7. Syme then traveled east to Silva Music Studios near Atlanta on May 9 where students enjoyed both his playing on all three brands and an in-depth discussion. Next stop was Nashville, where on May 10 Syme participated in a student recital at the historic Franklin Theatre. The following night, Syme appeared at Miller Piano Specialists where his repertoire included a stand-out version of Queen’s iconic Bohemian Rapsody on a Kayserburg KA275 concert grand.
“Presenting a performer like David Syme to American audiences in these intimate, interactive formats is a unique way to build awareness of and elevate our Pearl River, Kayserburg, and Ritmüller brands,” said Pearl River’s Global Director of Sales & Marketing Leng Tshua. “Everyone from piano teachers to potential piano buyers and from students to local musicians, appreciated his talent, personal anecdotes, and stories of life on the concert stage.”
Currently the Ritmüller Classical Artist in Residence at the University College Cork in Ireland, David has performed worldwide, at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, London’s Wigmore Hall, and at major venues in 17 European countries, as well as Canada and Mexico. In addition, he has recorded two dozen CDs with top orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic, Czech National Symphony, and the Mexico City Symphony.
Established in 1956, Pearl River Piano Group has become the largest piano manufacturer in the world, producing over 150,000 pianos a year, and more than 4,000 employees. The company builds pianos under the Pearl River, Ritmüller, and Kayserburg names.
