SFM, in partnership with Alvarez Guitars, is pleased to be the official instrument supplier to Le Festif! à l’École, the in-school component of Le Festif! De Baie St-Paul, a popular music and street performing arts festival held annually in the scenic Charlevoix region of Quebec.
Since 2018, Le Festif! à l’École has brought renowned Quebec artists directly into elementary and high schools throughout the province. Students have the opportunity to meet established artists, participate in song writing workshops, learn about the singer-songwriter profession and see a show. The initiative seeks to encourage students to get involved in the musical and cultural life of their community.
For the 2021 edition, SFM donated 20 Alvarez acoustic guitars, to be distributed among the schools visited by the program. The guitars will give young musicians’ easier access to quality instruments as they develop their artistic talent.
“We are delighted to support this great initiative, which exposes young people to the rich musical and artistic community of Quebec,” says Erik Lind, Manager of SFM’s Musical Instruments Business Unit. “The opportunity to inspire future musicians, singer-songwriters, and creators is an invaluable one.”
In total, 28 different schools across Quebec will be visited by Vincent Vallières, Sarahmée, Alaclair Ensemble, Émile Bilodeau, Clay and Friends, Saratoga, Jérôme 50 and Kid Kouna.
