Universal Audio Inc. released the fourth episode in its Apollo Creators video series, spotlighting producer and mix engineer Carlos de la Garza. De la Garza’s path to the top began with a skateboard, a Portastudio 424, and a Boss delay pedal. He has since produced and mixed some of the most influential indie rock records of the last decade, with credits including Death Cab for Cutie and Paramore.
In his Apollo Creators episode, de la Garza shares how he uses nostalgia as an ingredient in his creative process, and why Apollo x16 interfaces and UAD plug-ins are indispensable to his sound.
