Wenger Corporation, a leading provider of high-quality products and solutions for music education, performing arts, and athletic storage, introduces its new Transcend(tm) active acoustic technology. Transcend creates flexible, natural-sounding acoustics for
almost any space, program, and budget, scaling from small music practice
rooms to large performance venues.
Leveraging Wenger’s decades of leadership in acoustics for music education
and performance spaces, state-of-the-art Transcend Technology overcomes
architectural limitations such as insufficient room volume, low ceilings, or
challenging room shapes.
“Transcend Technology represents a significant advancement in active
acoustics, setting a new industry benchmark for flexibility of scale,
integrated features, and acoustic performance,” says Matt Hildebrand, Senior
Manager of Acoustics with Wenger Corporation. “We’ve put a lot of work into
making this technology intuitive, fun, and easy-to-use, while directly
supporting musical growth and creativity. It is our hope that Transcend
helps to inspire the next generation of musicians around the world.”
Through proprietary digital signal processing technology and a series of
high-performance speakers and microphones, Transcend adds early-, mid-, and
late-acoustic energy to create incredibly natural-sounding acoustic
reflections and reverberation. Preset acoustic environments are easily
recalled from a touch screen, enabling users to change the room’s acoustic
characteristics in seconds.
Musicians experience a performance-quality environment, whether practicing
alone, rehearsing with an ensemble, or performing on stage. Wenger works
with music educators, end users, and consultants to tailor the right
Transcend solution for each unique space and application.
At The Midwest Clinic in Chicago, IL, earlier this month, Wenger highlighted
three Transcend systems designed especially for music education
environments:
*Transcend Classroom brings flexible room acoustics and high-quality audio
record/playback capability to music rehearsal/ensemble spaces.
*SoundLok® practice rooms (with Transcend Technology) combine unmatched
sound isolation with seamlessly integrated active acoustics.
*Transcend Studio provides active acoustics and integrated audio features in
a convenient, do-it-yourself package for teaching offices and practice rooms
up to 500 sq. ft.
These three systems offer nine brand-new acoustic presets, high-quality
record/playback and storage capabilities, with both Bluetooth and wired
connectivity options.
Next March, at the USITT Annual Conference and Stage Expo in Long Beach, CA,
Wenger will spotlight two additional Transcend solutions designed for
performance stages and multipurpose venues:
*Transcend Stage provides the acoustic benefits of a traditional orchestra
shell without the storage, fly space, and weight capacity requirements of a
full-stage system.
*Transcend Venue is a full-venue system that delivers optimal acoustic
support for the stage as well as every seat in the house.
The first installation of Transcend Stage opened this fall at Eagan High
School Auditorium, in Eagan, MN. “Our band has never sounded better on the
stage, acoustically speaking. It was wild to step back and notice the
dramatic improvement with Transcend. It was very, very cool,” says Michael
Pearson, Director of Bands at Eagan High School. “The audience could more
accurately hear what I heard on stage. The clarity was also improved –
nuances were easier to hear.”
Transcend Technology can be integrated into any space, in both new and
existing facilities. Design, installation, and commissioning services from
Wenger Corporation ensure that each Transcend project is thoughtfully
executed and performs optimally for decades. Remote diagnostic support is
available for rapid adjustments and troubleshooting. Transcend systems are
covered by Wenger’s industry-leading three-year warranty.
