Yamaha Guitar Group, Inc. has announced a first collaboration with its recently acquired subsidiary, Córdoba Music Group, to donate more than 100 musical instruments to Music Will (formerly known as Little Kids Rock), a nonprofit charity based in Montclair, New Jersey. Music Will encourages and enables children from kindergarten to high school to play popular music by providing free music instruction and instruments to public school districts across the country.
“Supporting music via community-oriented non-profit organizations is a significant component of our Corporate Social Responsibility program,” said Joe Bentivegna, President of Yamaha Guitar Group. “We share Music Will’s vision to transform lives through music education, and we are delighted to join with Córdoba Music Group to help them inspire students by providing musical instruments for them to practice and perform with.”
In 2022, YGG donated 120 Line 6 and Ampeg guitar and bass amplifiers to Music Will— the single largest amplifier donation the organization had ever received—and this year YGG and CMG will donate 100 Córdoba 15CM ukuleles (ideal for students) and 12 Yamaha Revstar® electric guitars (including models from across the extensive range).
Also YGG will be partnering with Music Will in the form of an unique Line 6 Variax® 700 Acoustic Modeling Guitar signed by the members of Metallica—an instrument that will be auctioned off at the upcoming Music Will Benefit held on May 2 in Los Angeles, hopefully raising an appreciable sum.
“We are very proud and excited to be donating musical instruments to Music Will as our first ‘official’ collaboration with YGG,” said Tim Miklaucic, Founder and Chairman of Córdoba Music Group. “Yamaha and CMG have been deeply involved in music education for many years, so as a new member of the Yamaha family, this marks an auspicious beginning!”
