Zappos.com and Fender have united to launch Strum for the Sole, a first of its kind workplace health and wellness benefit program that encourages a healthy work-life balance through the healing power of learning an instrument. The partnership provides over 1500 Zappos employees with the opportunity to learn how to play or further enhance their skills on the acoustic or electric guitar, bass, and ukulele. The joint venture aims to provide employees with an outlet to reduce stress, increase creativity, foster self-expression and build confidence.
Strum for the Sole is powered by Fender Play, the personalized, online/mobile step-by-step learning platform that offers beginners quick and simplified instructor-led video lessons across a variety of musical genres. Boasting over 100K active users since its 2017 debut, Fender Play has had over 11M lessons taught to-date. Zappos has a dedicated space known as the “Jam Room” on their corporate campus where employees can go to relax, destress, and unwind during the work day. As part of this collaboration, Fender has outfitted Zappos’ Jam Room exclusively with Fender instruments so employees can learn how to play and foster a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, through a corporate program Zappos employees will also receive a discount on select gear and instruments on Fender.com, should they wish to continue their musical journey at home.
