Babicz and Gotoh have announced the FCH510G, a guitar tremolo that combines Babicz’s Full Contact Hardware saddle design with the Gotoh 510 tremolo system.
The FCH510G is designed to provide improved tuning stability, tonal response and playability for guitarists. The Gotoh 510 tremolo system includes a substantial tremolo block intended to increase sustain and resonance, while Babicz’s Full Contact design replaces traditional two-point saddle height adjustment with a cam-based mechanism that keeps the saddle in contact with the bridge plate.
According to the companies, the design is intended to improve energy transfer from the strings to the guitar body, with longer sustain, fuller note bloom and more consistent resonance across strings. The stable saddle design is also intended to reduce unwanted movement and improve low-end response, note definition and feel across the fretboard.
The Babicz eCAM system allows for precise height adjustments without traditional screws. The FCH510G is available for pre-order with a U.S. MAP of $349 and is currently shipping.
