D’Addario announces the launch of the full-length performance from Surround Sound, an exclusive, experimental live music event held at Chelsea Studios NYC. Featuring the dynamic improvisational collective EXO-TECH, and breaking away from traditional live music boundaries, the event placed the 11-piece collective in the center of the room surrounded by the audience, yielding an intense, 90-minute continuous improvisation with zero safety net.
Helmed by musical director Sophia Brous and multi-Grammy winner Kimbra, EXO-
TECH assembled a powerhouse ensemble, including Wilco’s Nels Cline alongside Mike
Haldeman, Henry Fraser, Jeremy Gustin, Kalia Vandever, Cole Kamen-Green, Morgan
Guerin, Alfredo Colon, and Paul Wilson Bae. The collective delivered a completely unscripted, genre-bending set that dissolved the boundary between performer and audience.
The event was filmed and recorded as a joint venture between D’Addario and New York
City production duo I Know We Should, led by Video Director Brad Wagner and Audio
Director Juan M Soria. Hosted at Chelsea Studios NYC, a premier Manhattan creative hub and Dolby Atmos facility, the production captures the raw, atmospheric tension of the night, from delicate, ambient soundscapes to rushing, distorted climaxes.
Media outlets interested in YouTube collaboration opportunities surrounding the release are encouraged to reach out.
