On August 1, Gibson Brands announced that a Delaware bankruptcy court has approved the Company’s Disclosure Statement. This allows the company to begin to solicit votes for its Plan of Reorganization in the wake of having filed for Chapter 11 in May of this year. The Plan materials and ballots were expected to be mailed during the week of August 6, 2018. The deadline for returning completed ballots will be September 14, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. (ET). A hearing to confirm the Plan is scheduled to begin on September 27, 2018.
“We are extremely pleased by the court’s approval of our disclosure statement, which is a key step toward the company’s successful emergence from Chapter 11,” said Gibson Brands CEO Henry Juszkiewicz in a statement. “Our employees have worked very hard to help us stay on track to emerge from Chapter 11 as planned, and we are grateful for the continuing support from our creditors, partners, and vendors.”
