Lithe Audio has officially launched its 8in Bluetooth Auracast Ceiling Speaker, known as the BT8, which integrates Bluetooth 5.4 LE Audio standards and Auracast broadcast technology. According to a report by Installation magazine, this new product delivers synchronized wireless audio to an unlimited number of compatible receivers within range without requiring traditional network infrastructure. The unit features a built-in Class D amplifier, eliminating the need for external equipment, and is designed for use in residential, commercial, and assisted living environments.
Installation magazine notes that the speaker supports wireless grouping via master transmitter and receiver modes to create synchronized audio zones. Additional capabilities include configuration through the Lithe Audio Setup App for equalization and volume limits, along with flexible inputs such as a 3.5mm line-in for various AV sources. The device carries an IP44 rating suitable for bathrooms and kitchens, while its magnetic grille can be painted for discreet architectural integration. Lithe Audio co-founder Amit Ravat stated that the technology simplifies multi-speaker systems and offers a modern alternative to legacy assistive listening infrastructure in healthcare settings. The BT8 is currently available globally through authorized distributors, the publication confirmed.
