The Percussion Marketing Council (PMC) rings in the new year with expanded programs for 2021.

From monthly giveaways, free lessons, and all-star webinars, PlayDrums.com helps connect drummers with percussion gear and instruction, and provides access to a wide-ranging network of artists and ongoing educational programs.

The PMC has refreshed a number of programs to increase both national and local community engagement while pandemic social distancing protocols are still in place.

“Get Drumming!”: The “Get Your Sticks Together” drum lesson giveaway has been rebranded as “Get Drumming!” Beginning in February 2021, winners get four prepaid drum lessons with a practice pad and new drum sticks to get started at home from a local drum or music retail outlet, courtesy of the PMC.

The PMC’s goal is to help connect drum students to local retailers who offer in-store (or online) private drum lessons. Percussion retailers interested in participating can receive free national exposure for their lesson-program offerings by joining the promotion locally, thereby increasing their lesson programs’ visibility. “Lesson with a Master”: Expanding on last May’s International Drum Month campaign, the PMC will offer 12 students a one-hour online drum lesson with some of the most celebrated drummers playing today. From April 15 to May 30, PlayDrums.com visitors can register to win a video session with a participating master drummer of their choice. Winners will be selected the first week in June.

“Fun with Drums”: Look for new student educational videos in early 2021. The “Fun with Drums” series of video presentations will help teachers connect their students with at-home percussion lessons. These 10-minute lesson videos include a lesson plan and are offered free-of-charge to teachers, parents, and educators. (Videos can be found at www.PlayDrums.com/fun-with-drums)

“Despite the challenges of the last year, through the pandemic, the PMC remains committed to helping connect students with instruction, gear, and the greater percussion community,” states incoming Executive Director Antoinette Follett. “This year’s PlayDrums.com social media efforts will include more focus on professional drummers, educational programs, and music education advocacy.”

As the official trade association of the percussion industry, PlayDrums.com connects the activities of our members, drummers, and percussion community. PMC member engagement is essential to growing our goals!  Contact Executive Director Antoinette Follett at info@PlayDrums.com to find out how your company and brand can participate with PlayDrums.com.
