Boris FX’s Sequoia digital audio workstation now includes a Spatial Panner as part of its 2026.5 update. The feature is aimed at broadcast, post‑production, music and live‑recording engineers who need precise control over spatial mixes.

According to Patrick Donohoe, director of product marketing for Boris FX, the panner lets users move a source in one visual space while the adjustment propagates to stereo, surround and immersive mixes. Users can still fine‑tune each target format individually, avoiding the need to rebuild mixes from scratch.

The tool supports mono, stereo, surround and immersive 3‑D channel formats up to 22.2. Each active source shows its own peak meter, solo/mute button and track color, and an optional 3‑D view helps visualize placement. Additional functions include speaker‑snap placement, symmetry mode for stereo sources, rotation mode, center‑divergence control and support for pan presets, matrix mode and external VST panners.

Sequoia 2026.5 also delivers faster overall performance, with real‑time waveform calculation during playback, an upgraded video engine and improved plug‑in compatibility. The information was released by mixonline.com.
