1010music has released the Blackbox 2, a portable sampling workstation that features an upgraded interface, an onboard battery, and USB audio streaming, as reported by musicradar.

The Blackbox 2 is described as a compact, touchscreen-equipped instrument housing a self-contained sampling workstation, succeeding the original model. The manufacturer stated that the new version offers an improved workflow and more creative features for both studio and stage use.

Key product updates include a four-inch high-resolution color touchscreen for sequencing and sample editing, and the inclusion of a rechargeable battery providing three hours of portable use, a feature absent from its predecessor. Furthermore, the unit now supports USB-C host and device ports for transmitting multichannel USB audio and MIDI.

The device remains a four-track workstation capable of loading various sample types and expands song-creation features with new dedicated screens. The hardware also incorporates a microSD card slot for memory expansion, allowing for streaming of longer WAV files directly from the card.
