In the days prior to NAB 2026,  Lectrosonics is pleased to announce the introduction of a new IFB (Interruptible FoldBack) transmitter base station, the IFBT2.0. The new unit is in a ½ rack chassis and features two independent transmitters, equaling the rack density of the older T4 unit. The IFBT2.0 has enhanced, menu-selectable input connectivity including analog line and mic level, Dante™ and AES digital, Clear-com, and RTS. The inputs are compatible with “wet” signals, allowing for use with connections where DC is present on the audio lines. The new unit also includes USB-C and Ethernet connections for use with Wireless Designer software for system monitoring, frequency coordination, and setup.

The IFBT2.0 offers IFB, NU Hybrid, and EU Hybrid compatibility modes so that the unit can be used in IFB and other applications including point-to-point audio where audio fidelity is critical. The next-generation transmitter unit is fully compatible with the existing line of IFBR1B, IFBR1C (IFBlue), legacy IFBR1, and IFBR1A receivers; and all Digital Hybrid Wireless® and current digital Lectrosonics receivers from the Venue 2 to LR, DSQD, DCR822, and DSR4.

Three tuning ranges are available for the new IFBT2.0: A1 (470-537 MHz), B1 (537-614 MHz) and C1 (614-692 MHz). These versions exactly match the currently available IFBR1B and IFBR1C (IFBlue) receiver packs and together cover the available UHF TV frequencies for most regions.

The IFBT2.0 offers user selectable RF power settings at 10, 25, 50, 100, and 250 mW (North American versions), and 10, 25, and 50 mW (EU versions). A circulator/isolator is employed on each channel, allowing RF signals to pass through to the antennas, while blocking external signals from entered the transmitter output sections. This greatly reduces the generation of intermodulation products.

Future firmware updates can be installed in the IFBT2.0 in the field via the USB-C jack on the front panel of the unit. The unit comes standard with rack mounting hardware and can be co-racked with Lectrosonics M2T or DSQD units or racked singly with the optional RMPRM2T-1 kit. The front panel features a color LCD for menu navigation and monitoring, and tactile buttons for ease of use and longevity.

“The Lectrosonics IFBT4 was a legendary standard in IFB systems for two decades due to the power, simplicity, and robustness that these devices provided,” states Karl Winkler, EVP of Product Design & Distribution at Lectrosonics. “Based on customer requests for a modern unit with digital audio connectivity, along with control and monitoring with Wireless Designer, we developed the IFBT2.0 for a wide variety of applications starting with broadcast IFB. This unit has the same rack density as the original, but is much easier to use, with a modern interface and more options for audio inputs.”

The new IFBT2.0 IFB base station will be exhibited at the NAB show in Las Vegas, NV, April 19-22, 2026, booth #C5307 in the Central Hall. For pricing and availability, please contact your authorized Lectrosonics retailer.
