Mojave Audio reports that its MA-D Dynamic and MA-D Wireless Capsule microphones are being used on current tours by Robbie Williams, NIKI and Mack Keane.

The company said the microphones bring its studio-oriented vocal sound to live performances, aiming to avoid harsh presence peaks and listening fatigue across a set. NIKI used the MA-D Dynamic during the Asian leg of her Buzz World Tour, while Robbie Williams’ front-of-house engineer, Joe Harling, used the MA-D Wireless Capsule for Williams and backing vocals on the Britpop World Tour.

Harling said the microphone’s midrange was open and that it reduced the low-frequency buildup he associates with proximity effect. He said the microphone deserves serious consideration for live vocal work. Mack Keane said the microphone brought warmth and clarity to his live show and helped create a connection with the audience.

Mojave said the MA-D range carries the same general sound character it has developed for recording studios into concert-stage use. The company positioned the Dynamic and Wireless Capsule as options for touring artists, front-of-house engineers and their vocal teams.

The MA-D Dynamic and MA-D Wireless Capsule are available through Mojave Audio dealers.
