Eventide has released a software update for its H9000 Gen2 hardware processor that introduces a suite of immersive algorithms designed to expand multichannel processing capabilities. According to a report from mixonline.com, the announcement addresses reverb, pitch shifting, and upmixing functions for Quad, 5.1, 5.1.2, and 7.1 formats. The central addition is MicroPitch Immersive, which applies spatial pitch-shifting effects across up to eight channels with independent delay and modulation controls. This feature merges distinct delay and pitch handling with modulation, equalization, and crossfeed options to support spatial audio production workflows.
The update also includes Valley, a new reverb algorithm available in stereo through 7.1 configurations. It features a Haze control, an immersive-specific function available in select formats, that spreads reverb output from each speaker into neighboring channels to create seamless soundfields. Furthermore, new Upmixer algorithms allow users to adapt existing sources for immersive environments while shaping spatial positioning throughout the field. This feature set is available as a free download via Emote software for current H9000 Gen2 owners. Owners of first-generation units can access the Valley algorithm in stereo only, while DSP upgrade kits remain available for purchase to enable full Gen2 functionality. The H9000 Gen2 hardware currently retails at $7,999 for the standard model and $5,999 for the rack-mounted H9000R variant without a front-panel display.
