Extron has announced the immediate availability of the NetPA Ultra FX Series, a new range of four- and eight-channel audio power amplifiers designed for multi-zone installations. According to Installation magazine, these units combine the manufacturer’s existing XPA Ultra FX platform with Dante network audio distribution and built-in digital signal processing.

The reported addition of Dante connectivity allows facilities to distribute audio from a centralized location to remote amplifiers across a campus using standard network hardware. Installation notes that the integrated DSP enables each amplifier to function as a standalone endpoint capable of handling dynamics processing and filters. The series is software-configurable to support 8-ohm, 4-ohm, 70-volt, and 100-volt loads simultaneously, permitting the use of multiple speaker types within a single system.

Per the report, total power across two adjacent channels can be shared to deliver up to 800 watts per single channel depending on specific model requirements. The publication also highlights the inclusion of Extron’s InstaWake technology, which returns the amplifier from standby to full power in under 50 milliseconds. Casey Hall, chief marketing officer at Extron, told Installation that customer requests for Dante versions arose immediately after the initial XPA Ultra FX launch, driving the development of these high-powered, networked audio solutions.
