Fender has unveiled the Fender Silent System, a patent-pending technology designed to eliminate single-coil pickup hum without requiring batteries or sacrificing authentic tone. According to Australian Musician, this breakthrough addresses an 80-year-old challenge facing the guitar community by integrating a passive system directly into the instrument.
The technology debuts in Limited Edition American Professional Classic Stratocaster and Telecaster models, both priced at $2,799 AUD. Australian Musician reports that these instruments feature vintage-inspired Coastline pickups and Modern C necks while utilizing the new silent architecture to provide working musicians with greater creative control over their signal chain.
Unlike traditional noiseless pickups, this system allows players to retain the sonic characteristics of standard single-coils while removing unwanted electrical interference. The Stratocaster is available in finishes including 3-Color Sunburst and Daphne Blue with rosewood fingerboards, plus Olympic White and Candy Apple Red with maple options. The Telecaster lineup offers Candy Apple Red and Sonic Blue with rosewood, alongside Vintage Blonde and 3-Color Sunburst with maple fingerboards.
