Green Hippo media servers facilitated the visuals at the Sherwood Court stage during the Electric Forest music festival, which took place in Michigan. According to Installation International, the festival drew a crowd exceeding 40,000 attendees.
Screenworks provided the systems for Sherwood Court, and Observatory developed the scenic content. The display incorporated a 7,000-pixel scenic canvas, complemented by a 5mm LED proscenium header, two IMAG screens, and a 7mm LED wall. Installation International reports that Green Hippo’s Output Manager and VideoMapper were key components of the setup.
To manage the complex visuals, a combination of tools was employed, including a Stream Deck XL, MIDI controllers, and TouchOSC. Green Hippo’s MultiController functionality was also leveraged, allowing for streamlined control. The Hippotizer systems delivered artist-provided content to the upstage wall.
Large content backups, approximately 160GB in size, were swiftly imported into the system. The swift transfer ensured the smooth execution of the visual program during the festival.
