Since December of 2013, Hal Leonard Corporation has distributed PreSonus products to music stores throughout the United States. The companies have now announced that Hal Leonard will be the exclusive US distributer for Notion 5 when it is launched at the NAMM show in Nashville. They will also exclusively represent the full array of Notion products beyond Notion 5, including the Notion Conducting Pack, Notion Site Licenses and the Progression Guitar Notation program.

PreSonus acquired Notion in 2013 to expand its growing product line and add to its total solution ecosystem, especially in the education market. Offering the finest playback quality of any music notation product, Notion features orchestral samples recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra, plus guitar, bass, and drum samples by Neil Zaza, Victor Wooten, and Roy “Futureman” Wooten.

Only Notion allows musicians to create a score on their Mac or Windows computer and transfer it to their iPad, where they can continue to edit. Notion offers tools for scoring to video and comes with three Native Effects™ plug-ins from PreSonus’ award-winning Studio One® DAW for Mac and Windows. This will be the first edition of Notion that includes the notation program in five languages.

PreSonus products are used today by artists ranging from Steve Morse and Flying Colors to Derek Sherinian, Imogen Heap, Lincoln Brewster, and Victor Wooten; institutions such as SAE and Berklee College of Music; and a who’s who of producers and engineers.

Says Doug Lady, senior VP of sales for Hal Leonard, “PreSonus creates cool products that not only cater to professionals but also help grow the market of new players, especially in the educational market. Notion makes it simple for musicians to write down their musical ideas quickly, hear their scores played back with superb orchestral and other samples, compose to picture, and edit on Mac, Windows, and iPad. We are thrilled to be the exclusive source for Notion.”

“Hal Leonard is a natural extension of our education and retail efforts, and we share a common vision in supporting the next generation of musicians by providing quality, easy-to-use technology solutions,” states PreSonus National Sales Director Mark Stone. “They’ve done such a terrific job distributing our products and promoting PreSonus programs that the decision to make Notion available exclusively through Hal Leonard is a logical next step.”

Notion 5 (HL00137598) retails for $149.99. For more information or to place an order for this and other PreSonus products, call the Hal Leonard E-Z Order Line at 800-554-0626, email sales@halleonard.com or visit www.halleonard.com.
