Komen Walk for the Cure on October 10th. "For the last four years, the Hot Licks team has hosted a fundraiser in support of defeating breast cancer," says Richie Downs. "This year we hosted a Blues Concert fundraiser in our outdoor courtyard." To increase contributions, they raffled off an Epiphone Les Paul guitar and Baby Taylor Acoustic Guitar. "All fundraisers combined, we have raised over $5,000 for breast cancer this year."
The shop says that the biggest money maker of the event (as was the case in previous years) was the guitar raffle. Taylor Guitars donated a Baby Taylor Acoustic Guitar to be raffled off, while OMG also contributed a pink strap to go with the Baby Taylor. The store sold $2 raffle tickets for the last three months leading up to the event, and for each raffle ticket sold, they posted a pink ribbon with names of the donors on them.
