KMC Music, a trailblazer in the musical instrument industry for nearly six decades, is ushering in a new era of leadership as it ushers in its next chapter. The company’s long-serving CEO Mark Terry is set to retire, leading to a transformative series of promotions that promise to shape the organization’s future.
James Tsaptsinos, a driving force within the company for over 12 years, has been promoted to the role of General Manager/VP at Jam US Music Group. This appointment marks a pivotal moment for KMC Music as Tsaptsinos takes on the responsibility of overseeing the business operations of KMC Music, Davitt & Hanser Music, Marshall Amplification USA, and US Music Corp Export divisions. With a track record of garnering respect and trust from colleagues, customers, and vendor partners, Tsaptsinos’s leadership style is poised to steer the company to new heights.
Reflecting on his promotion, Tsaptsinos stated, “I am truly honored to lead this incredible team into the future. KMC Music has a rich legacy, and I am excited to contribute to the next chapter of innovation and growth. Our commitment to excellence remains unwavering, and I am confident that together, we will set new benchmarks of success.”
In addition to Tsaptsinos’s promotion, KMC Music is proud to announce the elevation of two key team members, Terri Shaw, and Derik Deibler.
Terri Shaw, a veteran of 28 years in the industry, is being promoted to the role of Vice President/Sales for KMC, Davitt & Hanser Music, and US Music Corp Export. Shaw’s journey within the company began in 2016 as Director of National Accounts, where she helped KMC’s national account partners enjoy greater success. With this change, Shaw will bring her attention to detail and leadership to more retailer and distributor partners.
Likewise, Derik Deibler’s promotion to Director of Sales/National Accounts for KMC and D&H brings his talent to more of the company’s dealer partners. With a solid background spanning 17 years in the musical instrument retail and Church ProAV installation market, Deibler’s meticulous approach and relationship management skills are set to flourish in his expanded role.
“Our dealer partners have always been the priority for KMC Music, and in our next chapter, we are committed to redoubling that focus. These changes to our management structure give us the team to continue to improve our ability to make our partners more successful,” concludes new General Manager/VP James Tsaptsinos.
