Korg Inc. announced the immediate release of Glasper’s Grand & EP (EXs43), a signature sound collection developed with Grammy Award-winning artist Robert Glasper for the KRONOS music workstation. According to reporting from recordingmag.com, this free download allows musicians to access Glasper’s specific piano and electric piano tones directly through the KORG Sound Library.
The project originated from Glasper’s need to transport the emotional weight of an acoustic instrument while touring, the source reported. Working closely with Korg engineers, Glasper selected a piano matching his personal touch and recorded every note to preserve his unique dynamics and phrasing for the SGX-2 and EP-1 sound engines. The sessions utilized various microphone perspectives at Chaplin Recording Studios to capture both intimate and expansive studio characteristics.
On the electric piano side, the new library incorporates the drive, delay, and reverb effects essential to Glasper’s live performances, enabling a shift from clean expressions to saturated textures. Simultaneously, Korg released System Updater v3.2.3, which adds the Tine EP VIII model to the EP-1 engine for all KRONOS generations. Both the signature sound set and the system update are available now as free downloads for existing KRONOS owners.
