Liljeholmen DSP has unveiled TRUMSYNT-16, a fresh virtual instrument intended for creating percussive sounds. According to Synthtopia, the software functions as both a drum synthesizer and a sequencer, offering a unique approach to sound design.
The synthesizer’s architecture incorporates two oscillators and includes noise and click layers to expand sonic possibilities. Users can shape the sound further with a selectable filter, allowing for either low-pass or high-pass processing. The design limits the application to one instance per drum voice.
TRUMSYNT-16’s sequencing capabilities provide up to 16 steps, split across two pages, with independent control over pitch, velocity, and modulation. The plugin’s sound generation includes a special mode for VCO 1, producing a metallic tone through detuned square waves. It is compatible with macOS and Windows systems and is distributed as AU and VST3 plugins.
The software is available for purchase at a price of €49, including value-added tax. A trial version is also accessible, allowing potential users to test the instrument before committing to a purchase.
