A new application called M8 Music Tracker is now available for iPhone and iPad devices. This software serves as a mobile version of the existing music tracker, bringing its specific workflow to the iOS platform. According to synthtopia, the app provides an eight-track sequencer, synthesizer, sampler, and MIDI controller functionality directly on mobile hardware. Songs within the application are constructed using phrases and chains, with sequencing and modulation options available at each step of the process.
The instrument section includes several distinct engines such as Wavsynth for chip-inspired wavetable synthesis and Macrosynth with over forty engines. FMSynth offers four-operator FM synthesis, while Hypersynth utilizes a thirteen-oscillator swarm architecture with six-note polyphony. A dedicated sampler supports both playback and recording tasks. The iOS version also provides CoreMIDI input and output capabilities, support for external keyboards and game controllers, plus Launchpad Pro MKIII support. Users can access projects, instruments, samples, themes, and rendered audio through the Files app. Songs and bundles remain compatible with M8 hardware. The application requires iOS 15.0 or later and is available for purchase at $29.99.
