A Martin Audio sound system has been installed at the Ted Shawn Theatre, a venue with a long history of hosting dance performances. According to Installation International, the theatre, which is a component of the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in Massachusetts, recently received an audio upgrade.

Audio Inc. was responsible for the design and delivery of the new sound system, which incorporates several Martin Audio technologies. The setup features Wavefront Precision line array cabinets alongside SXC115 subwoofers, while TORUS T820 arrays handle delay coverage. Additional components include FlexPoint FP6 front fills and iKON amplifiers. Installation International reports that CDD-LIVE 8 loudspeakers and SX212 subwoofers are used for stage monitoring.

Engineers at Jacob’s Pillow have observed a noticeable improvement in audio quality following the installation. The theater, which has presented dance productions since 1942, now benefits from enhanced clarity and wider sound coverage. Martin Audio’s DISPLAY software was instrumental in addressing specific coverage challenges within the space.

The flexible system is designed to be adjusted to accommodate the varied requirements of individual dance productions. The equipment selection allows for customization to meet the unique needs of each performance.
