Australian singer and songwriter Phil Jamieson has canceled his scheduled 2026 PJ AIR Tour after suffering a fractured L1 vertebra during an on-stage accident. According to a report by Australian Musician, the Grinspoon frontman slipped and struck his spine against a drum riser last Friday, requiring emergency transport to Latrobe Regional Hospital. Jamieson stated he received a prescription for bed rest and faces a lengthy recovery period that prevents him from performing live. He expressed disappointment but emphasized that standing or playing gigs is currently impossible.
Australian Musician reported that venues and ticketing agencies will contact ticketholders directly to process refunds for the cancelled dates. Despite the injury halting his touring plans, Jamieson confirmed his sophomore solo album, 10CHARLIE, will still be released on Friday, August 14. The publication noted the record is his second solo full-length following 2022’s Somebody Else and features recent singles including Weekends and Blue As The Sunlight. While fans cannot attend launch parties, the artist expressed gratitude for medical staff and well-wishes while focusing on rest. Australian Musician indicated an interview conducted prior to the incident will be published soon. For now, Jamieson plans to remain in pajamas for the foreseeable future as he recovers from the serious spinal injury sustained during the performance.
