Rhodes Music has announced the availability of a new software instrument, the Rhodes Clav Pro plug-in, according to Music Instrument News. This virtual instrument aims to emulate the sound of a specific, historically significant keyboard.
The Clav Pro is designed to reproduce the characteristics of a 1977 Clav D6 “Transition” model, a keyboard known for its influence on various musical genres. Dan Goldman, Chief Product Officer at Rhodes, oversaw the development of the instrument. The sound was captured through detailed sampling of an original 1977 Clav D6 “Transition” model.
The software includes features for manipulating the sound, such as controls for Drive, Compression, and an Envelope/Wah effect. Users can also adjust the instrument’s tonal qualities through a Timbre Shift control, and the plug-in supports features like a sustain pedal and pitch bending. The Rhodes Anthology platform provides the foundation for the Clav Pro’s sound engine.
The Clav Pro plug-in is available for both macOS and Windows systems. The regular retail price is set at GBP £89.95, EUR €99.95, and USD $129.95, although an introductory price of GBP £59.95, EUR €69.95, and USD $89.95 is currently offered.
