Roland Corporation will open its first standalone retail store in the United States this October, establishing a direct physical presence in Manhattan after reaching US customers through dealers for decades. According to We Rave You, the new Roland Store New York City occupies over 9,000 square feet in the Meatpacking District, joining existing flagships in London and Tokyo. The expansive space includes warehouse areas and is split into zones for pianos, drums, guitars, synthesizers, dance gear, DJ equipment, and Roland Cloud services.

We Rave You reports the location features dedicated rooms unique to this site, including a grand piano showroom, the only DW showroom in the US, and the BOSS Cavern focused on guitar effects. The floor displays various products like V-Drums, BOSS pedals, SP samplers, TR drum machines, and the FP-40 piano with built-in Wi-Fi. An AI system called Roland Soundscapes generates continuous background music by responding to movement, MIDI input, time of day, and weather conditions outside. Visitors can book free thirty-minute sessions with legacy hardware like the TR-808, while rotating exhibits showcase other historic items. The store also provides free workshops, one-on-one product appointments, and after-sales training staffed by specialists. This expansion allows the company to present complex business aspects that are harder to sell online. The opening aligns with the Then. Now. Next. campaign, celebrating ten years since a major 2016 livestream event. Executives Masahiro Minowa and Manuele Barbini are expected to attend the invitation-only launch on October 10 before regular hours begin.
