Solid State Logic has introduced Odyssey, a modular analog recording and mixing console that combines an analog signal path with the company’s ActiveAnalogue control and instant-recall technology.
Odyssey is available in configurations ranging from 24 input channels plus eight groups to 96 input channels plus eight groups. Buyers can specify straight or curved ProStation frames, as well as custom frame arrangements.
The console extends the recall approach introduced with SSL’s Oracle platform, allowing engineers to restore analog control settings during tracking, mixing and revision-based production. SSL is positioning the system for commercial studios and other facilities that want analog operation without giving up session recall.
For professional-audio dealers and studio integrators, Odyssey adds a configurable large-format console to SSL’s product line. Frame design, channel count, installation requirements and recall workflow are likely to be central parts of the specification and sales process.
