Father’s House Church in Gqeberha partnered with Stage Audio Works to install a distributed Plus Audio system designed to overcome acoustic difficulties posed by the building’s wide seating layout, low ceilings, and polished concrete floors. According to AVNetwork, the integration team chose a decentralized approach rather than a traditional front-of-house array to prevent harsh reflections while delivering clear speech and impactful music.
Kieren Hempel of Stage Audio Works told AVNetwork that distributing point-source cabinets in localized zones keeps direct acoustic energy focused on the congregation, avoiding the wash of reflections common in hard-surfaced spaces. The installed system features Plus Audio CPH212 and CPH210 speakers for main and delay coverage, supported by CPU105 front fills and ET218B subwoofers. AVNetwork reported that networked AC415 and AC420 Dante amplifiers drive the setup, utilizing onboard DSP and FIR filtering for precise time alignment across all zones.
This configuration eliminates volume drop-offs and uneven frequency response, allowing front-of-house engineers to mix with confidence that the sound translates accurately throughout the sanctuary. Vincent Swanepoel of Father’s House Church stated to AVNetwork that the design team presented tailored approaches that made it easy for leadership to approve a system serving the entire congregation effectively.
